We are supporting Hugh’s Fish Fight, to show our disgust at the senseless waste of life and food through discards as well as supporting pole and line caught tuna.
So far I have not been one for little oily fish but from now on I am going to try and give them a go.
Go to the Fish Fight website and add your name to the 511,123 (and counting) supporters, let’s get this changed.

Happy New Year to everyone, I hope that 2011 turns out to be a good year where hopes and dreams will come to fruition.
As it has become a tradition with LotusLeaf, there will be a meeting off all clubs at the Dragon’s Den, Monmouth on Friday 4th February to celebrate Chinese New Year and the beginning of the year of the Rabbit. According to the Financial Post’s website (a Canadian newspaper) the year of the Rabbit will be good for Stocks. However I mis read the headline and, with my slight obsession, read is as
The year of the Rabbit good for socks
Well certainly I am very impressed with the variety and colour that has been slowly seeping into my classes. One students said to me “One thing about Tai Chi, it has made me think about my socks!”

I hope everyone had a great day and enjoys the festive period!
Don’t forget, if you get any tense moments just try breathing deeply for a couple of breaths, or even have a go at any of the Qigong you can remember – works a treat!!

Thanks to everyone who has been braving it out in this bitter weather recently and a big sorry to those classes I have had to cancel.
A final check on when classes finish and start again:
Joys Green, breaks up next week (13th) and we will not start again until 10th January
Ross on Wye breaks up on 20th December and starts again on 3rd January
Woolaston – Our last session is THURSDAY 16th December (not one of Tuesday 14th) and we will start again on 4th January
These dates obviously are weather and students allowing.
Incase I do not see before have a very Happy Christmas and a merry New Year! Here’s to a great 2011.

What a generally lovely autumn we are having! Here is the latest training news for each of the clubs:
Woolaston: Training as usual during November, so there will be no session on 16th. However, December is a little more awkward. Due to my not having my brain working properly at the time I have allowed the WI to change their meeting day to 14th December. This means we can train on 21st but feel that is possibly a little close to Christmas. If we do not train then, the last session will be on 7th December. one possibility is to change the training day, for one week in that week of 13th, so the break is not too long. We will discuss it in class and I will update the site when I know. We return from hols on 4th January
Ross: Training as normal up until Christmas. We will be discussing in class whether to train on 20th December or break up in 13th. We will return on 3rd January 2011
Joys Green: Training as usual, breaking up on 13th December and returning on 3rd January.
Chinese New Year
Next year it falls on 3rd February, so I had thought that the best time to arrange a meal would be for 4th (Friday). If anyone is interested in attending please let me know, or if anyone has any good ideas where to go this year also let me know. Thanks

This is the latest idea from Water Worn Jewellery. It is woven using faux suede thong and there is an integrated sea glass charm. It is fastened with a clip. This is just a trial piece but we are very excited about the idea. We hope you will too!
The thong would come in a variety of colours and lengths and we are thinking there could be more than one charm on some of the bracelets.

Autumn is well and truly here! Here are the schedules for the next month for each club.
Joys Green: Mondays 10-11am – Clubs as usual right up until Christmas. the only thing to think about is whether there should be a session on 20th December.
Ross on Wye: Mondays 7-8pm – Same as Joys Green, with clubs as usual. Whether we have a session on 20th December is up to students. There is one point. From 11th October I will have to be ending the sessions as promptly on 8pm as possible as I have another engagement to go to afterwards. I will therefore be starting ON TIME (!) if students could try and arrive 5 minutes early it would be a great help.
Woolaston: Tuesdays 7-8pm – The club is a usual with no session on 19th October for the WI, then 16th November. December is a little more complicated but we will get to that later!
As an aside for all clubs, Chinese New Year is on 3rd February 2011. Would students like another meal? If so can anyone suggest somewhere nice in the middle or shall we go back to the great place at Monmouth that we went to last year.
