Winter Tai Chi Training

Thanks to everyone who has been braving it out in this bitter weather recently and a big sorry to those classes I have had to cancel.

A final check on when classes finish and start again:

Joys Green, breaks up next week (13th) and we will not start again until 10th January

Ross on Wye breaks up on 20th December and starts again on 3rd January

Woolaston – Our last session is THURSDAY 16th December (not one of Tuesday 14th) and we will start again on 4th January

These dates obviously are weather and students allowing.

Incase I do not see before have a very Happy Christmas and a merry New Year! Here’s to a great 2011.

Woolaston Tai Chi Christmas sessions

After much discussion the Christmas sessions will be as follows:

Tuesday 7th December, 7pm as normal

Thursday 16th December 7pm

then back again on 4th January next year

Hope to see you all then!

Tai Chi Training and Newsletter – November 2010

What a generally lovely autumn we are having! Here is the latest training news for each of the clubs:

Woolaston: Training as usual during November, so there will be no session on 16th. However, December is a little more awkward.  Due to my not having my brain working properly at the time I have allowed the WI to change their meeting day to 14th December.  This means we can train on 21st but feel that is possibly a little close to Christmas.  If we do not train then, the last session will be on 7th December.  one possibility is to change the training day, for one week in that week of 13th, so the break is not too long.  We will discuss it in class and I will update the site when I know. We return from hols on 4th January

Ross: Training as normal up until Christmas.  We will be discussing in class whether to train on 20th December or break up in 13th.  We will return on 3rd January 2011

Joys Green: Training as usual, breaking up on 13th December and returning on 3rd January.

Chinese New Year

Next year it falls on 3rd February, so I had thought that the best time to arrange a meal would be for 4th (Friday).  If anyone is interested in attending please let me know, or if anyone has any good ideas where to go this year also let me know. Thanks

LotusLeaf Tai Chi Training News- October

Autumn is well and truly here! Here are the schedules for the next month for each club.
Joys Green: Mondays 10-11am – Clubs as usual right up until Christmas. the only thing to think about is whether there should be a session on 20th December.
Ross on Wye: Mondays 7-8pm – Same as Joys Green, with clubs as usual. Whether we have a session on 20th December is up to students. There is one point. From 11th October I will have to be ending the sessions as promptly on 8pm as possible as I have another engagement to go to afterwards. I will therefore be starting ON TIME (!) if students could try and arrive 5 minutes early it would be a great help.
Woolaston: Tuesdays 7-8pm – The club is a usual with no session on 19th October for the WI, then 16th November. December is a little more complicated but we will get to that later!

As an aside for all clubs, Chinese New Year is on 3rd February 2011. Would students like another meal? If so can anyone suggest somewhere nice in the middle or shall we go back to the great place at Monmouth that we went to last year.

After Summer Update – Training News

I hope everyone had a good August even if it was maybe not the weather we were expecting.  North Wales was as lovely as normal with very little changing up at the top end of Porth Neigwl beach (Abersoch is, of course, a different matter!)

Thanks to (although not the best term to use) Donny spraining his arm, so badly the whole thing has swollen up and so no more surfing for him, we are home early and I have managed to sneak in my last archery lesson.  So…

Woolaston – Classes normal time including 14th September.  Sorry to mess you around.

All other clubs are business as usual. See you all Monday or Tuesday!

LotusLeaf Training News July – September

Sorry for the delay in getting this published, but here are the class dates for the coming months.

Joys Green – Normal classes will be running with the last class being 2nd August.  The first class back after summer is 6th September and then classes run as normal again.

Ross on Wye – Basically the same as Joys Green, classes are running as normal up until (and including) 2nd August and we are back again on 6th September

Woolaston – There is the usual third week in the month with no class on 20th July and then classes on 27th July and 3rd August are both late sessions running from 8pm to 9pm.  The 3rd August is looking a little bit uncertain at the moment as to how many students can make it.  After summer the classes start back on 7th September and there will be no class on 21st of that month as per usual.  I am not expecting to have to do any further late classes, but this will depend on the weather between now and August!

A Gentle Nudge – I realise that it is summer and that the evenings are long and warm and it therefore maybe easier to fill them with other things.  Please, if you can not make it to your session, contact me and let me know so I can judge accordingly.  If you do not have my contact details, ask and they shall be given.

LotusLeaf Tai Chi Training News – June 2010

Thanks to everyone who have put in lots and lots of hard work over the last few months, you are all coming on brilliantly!

31st May 2010 – BANK HOLIDAY – There is no session at Joys Green.  I am waiting to hear back from students as to a session at Ross, I will keep you all posted.

1st June – Woolaston Club, as you mostly all know I am partaking in a archery course with The Bowmen of Dean, and need to get my sessions in.  After talking to several of you it was suggested that students would be happy to have a late session on a few occasions to allow me to get in my course.  I would like to pencil this session in as one of those.  Times will be 8pm – 9pm, though don’t go away if I am not there early, please hang around, I WILL come!

15th June – Woolaston Club, no session for the normal 3rd in the month.

29th June – Woolaston Club,  I would like to pencil this session in as another late session, if this suits.  Times will be 8pm – 9pm, though don’t go away if I am not there early, please hang around, I WILL come!

Sean and Vivi Leaving

It’s so sad to have students leave after they’ve been with me for such a length of time.  Sean and Vivi are no exception.  They started Tai Chi with me when I taught in Chepstow at Equilibrium Holistic Centre and then came with me to Woolaston.  They have been fab students, enthusiastic with a wicked sense of humor.  I know that Woolaston class will miss you guys and so will I.

Good luck with your new life in Mexico at your Ranch and all the teaching, writing, learning and most of all parenting.  Keep in touch and keep practicing hard.  Maybe see you out there one of these days.

Check out their website  about their place Rancho San Pedro and all their exploits and, if you can, join them for one of their bound to be great workshop/holidays.

Just a quick Thank you to ray for cheering us up with that shirt on an otherwise sad occasion!

LotusLeaf Training News April and May 2010

Spring is almost here! The evenings are getting more light and, in fact, I opened up the hall in Ross being able to see the gadget just fine Monday just gone, so things are definitely on the right side.

There are quite a few upsets to the normal schedule in the coming months.  As always I will try and remind everyone of these in class.

Joys Green, Community Centre, Mondays 10-11am
There are NO sessions on 5th April (Easter Monday) and 12th April.  I will put a question mark by 3rd May as it is a Bank Holiday, but will leave the decision up to the students.

Ross on Wye, St Mary Church Hall, Mondays 7-8pm
Students seem to be fine having a session on Easter Monday so that is how it stands at the moment.  There will be NO session on 12th April and again I will leave the 3rd May as a question mark.

Woolaston Memorial Hall, Tuesdays 7-8pm
There will be NO session on 13th April, 20th April (the normal 3rd week in the month) and again on 18th May (3rd in the month again).  Sean and Vivi are off to Mexico on 12th April so we hope to have a bye bye drink at the pub on 6th April to see them off.  I will say now that they will be missed and we wish them all the best in their new life. Check out what they are doing at : www.ranchosanpedro.com

Happy Training!
